Independent Personal Search Agents
  • The Association of Independent Personal Search Agents is a non-profit-making representative body and support group for search agencies across the UK.

    We provide a range of services designed to educate, inform and support our members, including dedicated website and telephone helpline. Other benefits include a range of discounted training courses, HIP compliant Insurance Packages and a nationwide member to member network for out of area searches. For those members experiencing difficulties with local authorities who insist on flouting regulations and guidelines, IPSA will take up the case on the search agent\'s behalf, thereby preventing any personal animosity arising between the council and the agent.

    With regard to the introduction of HIPs we are in regular communication with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Office of Fair Trading, as well as other industry bodies. Along with COPSO and APPS we are members of the Conveyancing and Property Searches Working Group; a working group set up to advise Government on access to Local Authority data.
